Compound Naltrexone Capsules has a slight grey-green colour capsule. The capsules come in any pack size.
Do not take Compound Naltrexone Capsule if you are allergic(hypersensitive) to naltrexone, cellulose and/or any natural colour. If a different filling is being used, you will be provided with the relevant list of ingredients in a separate leaflet.
Taking Compound Naltrexone Capsule at the same time as other medicines may impact the effectiveness of one or all products. This is particularly important when taking any opiod medication, (such as codeine). Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicine.
Compound Naltrexone Capsule must not be taken while pregnant or breast feeding. Ask tour doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet o as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse have told you. Check with your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you are not sure. Compound Naltrexone Capsule is to be taken orally.
a) Please do not open, chew or crush the capsule
b) Open the capsule pot
c) Take the number of capsules prescribed
d) Swallow the capsule(s) with a glass of water
e) Close the pot and wash your hands
If you take more Compound Naltrexone Capsules than you should, you may experience symptoms of hormonal imbalance. If you are worried, contact your prescriber or pharmacist.
If you forget to take Compound Naltrexone Capsule, take it as soon as you remember and then continue as before. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. If you have any further questions, contact your prescriber or pharmacist.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The main side effects associated with taking naltrexone are:
Common: Sleep disturbances, mild headache, mild agitation, nausea, gastrointestinal effect, and hyperthyroidism in Hashimoto’s patients.
Uncommon: Flu-like symptoms, rash, elevated temperature, dizziness, increased fatigue or spasticity.
These side effects are usually at the beginning of treatment and can be stopped by reducing the dose and titrating up again.
If you suffer any side effects, talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. This includes any possible side effects not listed here. You can also report side effects directly via the Yellow Card Scheme at: www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard. By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children Do not use this medicine after the expiry date. You should stor your capsule at room temperature (15oC – 25oC). Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures help to protect the environment.
